Legazpi City- The National Conciliation and Mediation Board No. 5 with the initiation of the Human Resource Department of PGPRC and Filminera, facilitated a learning session on Workplace Relations and Enhancement to the newly members of the Employee Engagement Committee (EEC) of Phil. Gold Processing and Refining Corp. (PGPRC) and Filminera Resources Corporation on June 16, 2022 at Aroroy, Masbate. 

Reynaldo S. Foncardas, Regional Branch Director of NCMB-5 serves as the main speaker on Workplace Relation and Enhancement or Labor-Management Cooperation. “It is a state of relations where labor and management work hand in hand to achieve company goals and promote workers’ participation thereby resulting in higher productivity”, LMC as explained by Dir. Foncardas. He further added that “labor and management are social partners sharing a common interest in the success and growth of the enterprise and the economy, specifically in promoting workers’ participation in decision-making processes and to create a labor relations climate conducive to productivity. He underscored the importance of Workplace Relations and Enhancement or LMC to improve the relationship between the employee and employer. 

Labor-Management Cooperation (LMC) provides an opportunity and an avenue for discussion between labor and management. As pointed out, “Good communication is very important in every workplace; it is essential for stable labor-management relations”.

The topics on Workers’ Rights and Obligations and Management Prerogatives and their Limitations were also discussed by Jennifer Mae A. Novela and Maryclaire P. Rico, both Admin personnel of NCMB-5. After the seminar, the NCMB-5 witnessed the selection of the new set of officers of EEC.

As mentioned by the General Manager of Masbate Gold Project and President of Phil. Gold Processing & Refining Corp, Mr. Daniel Moore, “Over the years, the establishment of the Employee Engagement Committee has been beneficial to both the workforce and management in maintaining Industrial Peace and harmony within the organization. The learning session helped the new members to understand the value and their roles and responsibilities in the committee.” /end/
